The apostle Paul explained: “[God] hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained.” [Acts 17:31]. Who was that man? Jesus, who himself said: “The Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son.” [John 5:22] So Jesus will be God’s appointed Judge on Judgment Day.
This is good news for humans. The Gospels reveal Jesus to be a person of great compassion. He is not haughty or demanding but “mild-tempered and lowly in heart.” [Matthew 11:29; 14:14; 20:34]. We are happy to be in the hands of such a judge.
