As I say in the “About” tab for this site, I don’t know if these are the End Times as I believe only God knows that, but I believe that starting in 2020 many people felt the presence of a great evil in the world that they hadn’t felt before. According to a recent survey conducted by Pew Research Center, 39% of Americans believe that “we are living in the end times”. This includes nearly half of self-identified Christians and a quarter of the religiously unaffiliated.
What are the signs of the End Times? I think we can still trust that ChatGPT will consult the actual Bible, not an AI-rewritten one in answering this question:
The Bible provides various passages that mention signs or events associated with the end times or the second coming of Jesus Christ. It's important to note that interpretations of these signs may vary among different Christian denominations and scholars. Here are some commonly mentioned signs:
Increase in false messiahs and false prophets: Jesus warned about the rise of individuals claiming to be the Messiah or speaking on behalf of God (Matthew 24:5, 24; Mark 13:6, 22).
Wars and conflicts: The Bible speaks of wars, rumors of wars, and nation rising against nation as signs of the end times (Matthew 24:6-7; Mark 13:7-8).
Natural disasters: Jesus mentioned earthquakes, famines, and pestilences as signs that would occur before His return (Matthew 24:7; Luke 21:11).
Persecution of believers: The Bible foretells that believers will face persecution, hatred, and even death because of their faith (Matthew 24:9; 2 Timothy 3:12).
Apostasy and false teachings: There will be a departure from the faith, with people embracing false doctrines and teachings (Matthew 24:10-11; 1 Timothy 4:1-3).
Increase in wickedness: The Bible indicates that as the end times approach, there will be a noticeable increase in wickedness, lawlessness, and immorality (Matthew 24:12; 2 Timothy 3:1-5).
Gospel preached to all nations: Jesus said that the gospel would be proclaimed throughout the world before the end comes (Matthew 24:14; Mark 13:10).
Signs in the heavens: The Bible mentions celestial signs such as the darkening of the sun and moon, stars falling from the sky, and the powers of heaven being shaken (Matthew 24:29; Luke 21:25-26).
The rise of the Antichrist: The Bible speaks of the coming of a charismatic world leader known as the Antichrist who will deceive many (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Revelation 13).
The abomination of desolation: Jesus referred to the "abomination of desolation" as a significant sign (Matthew 24:15; Mark 13:14). This refers to a sacrilegious act that desecrates the holy place.
It's important to approach these signs with discernment and humility, as their fulfillment is a matter of interpretation and timing. The Bible encourages believers to be watchful, prepared, and faithful, regardless of when the end times may come (Matthew 24:42-44; Luke 12:35-40).
There are many cryptic references to spans of days and thousands of days in the Book of Revelation that have led many scholars and analysts to posit a certain order of events in the End Times, with the main elements being a period of suffering known as the Tribulation, followed by a period of the Reign of the Antichrist, followed eventually by Christ’s return.
The video linked at the top of the page made more sense to me than many other timelines. As with many secular financial cycle models, Martin Armstrong’s in particular, this coming decade appears to be the culmination of a supercycle. Lots of people are focusing on 2030.
Another timeline based on the curation of many Eastern Orthodox latter-day prophets, many of whom were priests, is provided by the newearth YouTube channel, where Sylvie Ivanovna has an extensive playlist documenting her research. She summarizes her timeline in the graphic below. Current events suggest we may be approaching a period of “drastic inflation, instigated civil wars and revolutions worldwide escalating into World War III” over the next several years. There are some intervening events that are supposed to take place first. The graphic is a couple of years old, so the arrow indicating the present should be moved to the right a bit, probably. We have already had the cutoff of Russian energy to Europe and German economic “chaos” (i.e., self-destruction).
One of Ivanovna’s prophets says that the reign of the Antichrist will involve worldwide AI-augmented “raves,” multimedia experiences that will draw many people to the false Messiah.
Have a blessed day! Repent and be ready!
Excellent quotes from the Good Book Elliot, and I applaud your analysis. But we are mere imperfect humanity and are not even permitted to cast an eye upon our Maker. He is all powerful and those who submit in humility and service to the Lord of Hosts will gain eternal life for it is written. And only through Jesus can we come to our Maker.
May I be permitted to add to your great exposé?
According to John’s vision, Judgment Day will be presided over by God himself. But someone else is involved. The apostle Paul explained: “[God] hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained.” [Acts 17:31]. Who was that man? Jesus, who himself said: “The Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son.” [John 5:22] So Jesus will be God’s appointed Judge on Judgment Day.
This is good news for humans. The Gospels reveal Jesus to be a person of great compassion. He is not haughty or demanding but “mild-tempered and lowly in heart.” [Matthew 11:29; 14:14; 20:34]. We are happy to be in the hands of such a judge.
May God preserve us all.
Blessings
